Habiban Zahid

Trainee Solicitor

Habiban Zahid is a Trainee Solicitor in the Criminal Law Department at Tyler Hoffman Solicitors, based at our Leeds office. She is approaching qualification and has developed significant experience assisting in the preparation and conduct of criminal cases across both the Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court.

Habiban plays an active role in the management and progression of criminal matters, supporting cases from the investigative stage through to court proceedings and conclusion. Working closely with senior solicitors and instructed counsel, she contributes to the development of carefully structured and strategically prepared defences in a wide range of criminal cases.

Her responsibilities include the detailed examination and analysis of prosecution evidence, identifying evidential issues, and assisting in the preparation of key legal documents. Habiban regularly drafts bail applications, defence case statements, and mitigation material, ensuring that both the legal arguments and the personal circumstances of clients are presented clearly and effectively before the court.

Habiban is also an accredited Police Station Representative enabling her to represent clients at police stations during interviews and at the earliest stage of criminal investigations. In this role, she ensures that clients’ legal rights are protected from the outset and that they receive clear and practical advice during what can often be a critical stage of proceedings.

She liaises regularly with clients, counsel, experts, and external agencies, helping to ensure that cases progress efficiently and that all procedural requirements are met. Her meticulous attention to detail and organised approach support the preparation of strong and effective cases for court.

As she approaches qualification, Habiban continues to develop her advocacy, litigation, and case management skills while gaining valuable experience in serious and complex criminal matters. Her commitment to professional excellence and client care makes her a valued member of the Tyler Hoffman criminal defence team.
